I took up photography way back when there were film cameras, dark rooms, enlargers, chemicals and tongs! I'm showing my age here but this is where my love of the medium started. After eventually shifting to a DSLR I was reduced to just snapping away casually and failing miserably to nurture my creativity. Perhaps it was just a period of life with more pressing priorities, coupled with the fact that Instagram wasn't invented yet!
In recent years my love of picture making has been rekindled. More so because of the advent of mirrorless cameras, which makes for greater convenience and in my case, better photography. I'm using an APS-C Fujifilm X-T20 with an 18-55mm lens and a 16mm prime lens. With it's familiar and super accessible retro dials, it has made me more conscious of basic photographic principles and given me the motivation to re-discover the art all over again - minus the noxious chemicals and heavy duty bag. I use Adobe Lightroom for post production work.
